HOW TO TIE A STOP KNOT

Whenever you want to use a sliding float you will need to tie a stop knot on your line that will grip the line without damaging it. Power Gum is the best material for this, and here we show you how easy the stop knot is to tie.

Watch a video demonstration here.

Step 1

Step 1

Take a length of Power Gum and form it into a loop alongside the mainline.

Step 2

Step 2

Pass one end of the Power Gum through the loop, and around the mainline, four times. Moisten the Power Gum and pull both free ends to tighten the stop knot.

Step 3

Step 3

Leave the free ends about one inch (2.5cm) long or the stop knot won't pass through the rod rings easily. Always moisten the knot before sliding it along the line to alter the depth of the float.
